Jamaica wins major accolades at Canadian travel awards

KINGSTON, Jamaica – For the fifth consecutive year, Jamaica has distinguished itself as a destination on the international stage, earning top accolades at the TravelPulse Canada Readers’ Choice Awards last Thursday.

The event was held in celebration of excellence in the Canadian travel industry. Jamaica was named both Best Tourist Board – Caribbean and Best Destination – Caribbean.

These wins mark the fifth consecutive year that Jamaica has been honoured by TravelPulse Canada readers, affirming the JTB’s strong market presence and exceptional performance in promoting Jamaica as a leading Caribbean destination.

Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, praised the achievement stating “These accolades reflect the consistent dedication of our tourism team and partners. Jamaica’s brand continues to resonate with Canadian travellers, and this recognition is a testament to our strategic efforts in service excellence, innovation, and relationship building. We thank our Canadian travel advisors for their unwavering support and partnership.”

Donovan White, Director of Tourism, also expressed his appreciation stating: “To be acknowledged year after year by TravelPulse Canada is a clear signal that our message is reaching the right people and that our destination continues to exceed expectations. These awards belong to the entire tourism community—from our team at the JTB to the hoteliers, attractions, and travel advisors who help make Jamaica shine.”

Angella Bennett, Regional Director, Canada, at the Jamaica Tourist Board proudly expressed: “We are thrilled to be recognised once again by TravelPulse Canada’s valued community of travel advisors. This is a true reflection of the relationships we’ve built, the trust we’ve earned, and the passion Canadians have for Jamaica.”

The TravelPulse Canada Readers’ Choice Awards are determined by thousands of Canadian travel advisors who vote across more than 30 categories.

Over the years, Jamaica and the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) have earned multiple TravelPulse Canada Readers’ Choice Awards. These include being named Tourist Board of the Year – Overall for four consecutive years (2020–2023) and receiving the title of Best Tourist Board – Caribbean/Mexico in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. Additionally, Jamaica was recognised as the Best Destination – Caribbean and the Favourite Honeymoon Destination in 2023.
