Prince Saj to host album launch, concert
GOSPEL deejay Prince Saj, who is renowned for his relatable and catchy tracks, will be hosting an official launch for his debut album, Fully Jesus on June 14.
The entertainer, who copped the Sterling Gospel Music Award for EP of the Year in 2024 for his project Conquest, promises an eventful experience.
“I’m looking forward to the impact that it will have on the people. I’m looking forward to seeing people feeling a vibration where it relates to the love of God, and understanding that Christianity isn’t boring, and that this is a serious mission and we didn’t just come here to play around or to sing a few songs. I want patrons to understand the mission and mandate and that we’re serious about it, and that we want to impact not just people in Jamaica but the wider world,” Prince Saj told the Jamaica Observer.
The launch will be held at the Swallowfield Chapel in Kingston. It will also feature performances from Tesharah, Jason Nurse, Orville Sutherland, Rian Davis, Jim Radical, Audia Spencer-Brown and Perry In Christ, who were all handpicked by Prince Saj and his team to be a part of the event.
Fully Jesus was produced by DaJourney Production. It features collaborations from Johnmark Wiggan, Blessed Messenger, Garth Sinnette, and DJ Nicholas.
Prince Saj added that he received divine guidance to release the fresh body of work.
“I have so many songs that I could write four or five albums, to be honest [but] God said that this is the time. He had allowed me to release an EP before, and that was basically just to put forth more content for people to really grasp, ‘cause the scripture says the harvest is ripe but the labourers are few so we have to do the work with what we have right now,” he explained.
Prince Saj grew up in Font Hill, St Thomas, and Angels in St Catherine. In 2022 he also won Breakout Artiste of the Year at the Sterling Gospel Music Awards, and received nominations for Male Artiste of the Year and Video of the Year for
Fully Jesus in 2023.
In the meantime, he is encouraging emerging or hopeful talents to remain diligent on their path to success in the industry.
“Obedience is better than sacrifice. My obedience to God is also a part of my growth process, because you can go forth and dabble in so many different things and that can hinder your growth and stop the process where it relates to God using you in a massive way where you impact nations or so many people, and we don’t want that. So, just stay obedient and let God lead you and abide by His word. Don’t lean on your own understanding,” Prince Saj said.
