Swiss sprinter Mujinga Kambunji announces pregnancy
Swiss sprinter and 60m world indoor champion Mujinga Kambundji announced on social media Friday that she is pregnant.
“Season’s over, for the most beautiful reason. I’m incredibly happy to share that our little miracle is on the way. I’m so grateful for this new adventure and already looking forward to returning to the track in 2026,” Kambundji wrote in the caption of the post that shared her pregnancy ultrasound pictures with followers.
“Big thanks to my team, partners and everyone who’s part of the journey,” she added.
Kambunji is the 2022 and 2025 World Indoor Champion and is the fourth fastest woman of all time in the event. She is also a three-time European Championships medallist with gold for the 200 m and silver for the 100m in 2022 and bronze for the 100 m in 2016.
