ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica- A 25-year-old labourer has been charged after admitting to robbing a business in Santa Cruz last Saturday.

Reports from the Black River Police are that about 2:00 am, the complainant received information that her business establishment, which she had securely locked and left for home, was being broken into. The police were alerted, and on arrival, two men were seen running from the premises with items in hand.

It was later discovered that entry was gained by the culprits through a window to the back of the building.

An investigation was launched, and Jamario Jarrett, otherwise called ‘Oreo’ of Hyman Town, Brighton district, Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth, was listed as a person of interest. Jarrett turned himself over to the police on Thursday, May 22, when he was charged with house breaking and larceny based on evidence found on the scene and a caution statement reportedly admitting to the crime.

His court date is being arranged.
