England bowl against West Indies in 3rd ODI
London, United Kingdom (AFP)- England captain Harry Brook won the toss and elected to field as his side went in search of a 3-0 one-day international series whitewash of the West Indies at the Oval on Tuesday.
The scheduled 1:00 pm local time (1200 GMT) start was delayed by 30 minutes after the West Indies were stuck in London traffic.
Brook revealed at the toss that England had endured problems of their own when travelling to the ground.
“We were on the bus for a while, then we all decided to get off and get on some bikes,” he said after naming an unchanged team and deciding to bowl first in overcast conditions.
West Indies made three changes, bringing in the fit-again Evin Lewis, Sherfane Rutherford and Shamar Joseph for Jewel Andrew, Matthew Forde and Shimron Hetmyer.
Lewis scored a career-high 176 at the Oval in 2017.
England have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series after a 238-run victory at Edgbaston and a three-wicket win in Cardiff.
Victory for West Indies would boost their hopes of World Cup qualification.
Only the top eight teams in the International Cricket Council rankings, together with the hosts, qualify directly for the 2027 World Cup in southern Africa.
The West Indies are ninth in the standings, with England in eighth position.
