Gramps Morgan joins Free Guitars 4 Kids initiative
Gramps Morgan and his son Jemere embrace each other on stage at Best of the Best

Gramps Morgan joins Free Guitars 4 Kids initiative

NASHVILLE, United States — Singer Gramps Morgan recently participated in an initiative by Free Guitars 4 Kids, where 100 children were gifted with guitars.

The Nashville-based organisation’s mantra is to change the lives of children through the gift of music.

“One of my friends from Wash House Music Group, Jonas Teele, reached out to me about it, that it was going down, and once I heard about it, I had the opportunity to be a part of it. Where I am in my life right now is where we want to give back. I even want to bring this to Jamaica, to give away instruments to the children. Because you see, whenever children don’t have anything to do, they will find something to do,” Gramps Morgan told Observer Online last week.

“So you find that even with the work that I am doing with my wife and my son right now in the Philippines, the philanthropic work we are doing is important. It’s really a joy to be a part of this organisation,” Gramps Morgan added.

Continuing, he said, “This is just another of several organisations that I am working with and just to see the smiles on the faces of the children when they receive their guitars, it’s really heartwarming. We just want to take this around the world and keep music in the hearts and minds of children”.

Gramps Morgan’s 2021 hit ‘A Woman Like You’, taken from his solo album Positive Vibration, recently hit a new milestone. The official music video has racked up more than 27 million views on YouTube.

“I am extremely humbled by the reception to A Woman Like You. It truly is a taste of the Caribbean people and more-so the Jamaican people, that the appreciation of good music is still there. I want to give thanks to the radio stations that have and still continue to support the song,” he said.

On May 24, Gramps Morgan shared the stage with his son Jemere at the annual Best of the Best stage show at Bayfront Park, Miami. It was an experience that he holds dear to his heart.

“My son Jemere was booked for the early stage, and I must show my appreciation to Jabba and the team at Best of the Best for taking a chance on my son and for allowing him to display his talent. He is currently in the studio working on an album with Damian Marley, which is turning out to be an incredible album. Sharing the stage with my son was an absolute joy,” Morgan said.
