Hayden, Holgate ruled out of Gold Cup
Midfielder Isaac Hayden and defender Mason Holgate have been ruled out of the remainder of the Reggae Boyz Concacaf Gold Cup campaign.
The England born duo, who were part of the Unity Cup and World Cup qualifying squads since late May, both missed Jamaica’s opening 1-0 defeat to Guatemala on Monday at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles.

The 28-year-old Holgate has not recovered from an an injury he suffered in last Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Guatemala at the National Stadium which saw him substituted after 41 minutes. Meanwhile, 30-year-old Hayden played the full 90 minutes in that game but reportedly has been struggling since.
Mount Pleasant Football Academy captain Sue-Lae McCalla and Charlton Athletic midfielder Karoy Anderson have been called into replace Hayden and Holgate and are expected to be available for selection in Friday’s game against Guadeloupe.
The Jamaican medical team are also currently assessing Damion Lowe who was forced off through injury late in the second half.
The Reggae Boyz need to finish in the top two in their group to advance to the knockout stage.
