Trelawny licensed firearm holder charged after allegedly pointing gun at man
FALMOUTH, Jamaica – A 58-year-old Trelawny businessman has been charged with assault at common law and using a firearm to commit a scheduled offence following an incident in Hague district in the parish on Tuesday.
He is Allan Messado of Stonebrook Vista in Falmouth.
According to reports, about 10:00 am, a man’s property was being surveyed when Messado, with whom he has a civil matter over the land, entered and was instructed by the man to leave.
It is reported that Messado then lifted his shirt and showed the man his licensed firearm that he had in his waistband and walked away.
Reports from the Falmouth Police are that while the man was walking, Messado turned around and pulled out the firearm and pointed it at the man, then he walked towards him, but was stopped by the surveyor who stood in his path and brought the situation under control.
A report was later made to the police by the man and Messado was subsequently arrested and formally charged for the offences.
His court date has not been finalised.
