On Monday evening, Nike hosted a reception paying tribute to three-time Olympic gold medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, at the AC Hotel Kingston’s poolside deck. The event, aptly named “A Night of Excellence”, marked Nike’s long-standing partnership with Fraser-Pryce and celebrated her enduring legacy. The occasion drew a distinguished crowd, including Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness, Nike Vice-President, Global Running Brett Holts, GraceKennedy Group CEO Frank James, Pocket Rocket Foundation director Colleen Montague and MVP Track Club President Bruce James, all of whom offered tributes to Fraser-Pryce’s remarkable career and dedication to Jamaica. Amidst the accolades, a bittersweet announcement: Fraser-Pryce confirmed this year’s National Senior Championships, starting tomorrow, will be her final one, while simultaneously expressing heartfelt thanks to those who have supported her career — as well as reaffirming her commitment to giving back to her country.
