National Trials 2025: Lamara Distin retains high jump title
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Despite nursing a sore thigh, Commonwealth Games gold medallist Lamara Distin retained her women’s high jump title, clearing 1.86m at the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association’s (JAAA) National Senior Championships at the National Stadium on Thursday.
Distin, who was winning her third straight title, had just two clearances, at 1.80m, passed at 1.83m before clearing 1.86m on her second attempt before retiring.
Annishka McDonald was second with 1.75m while Alyiah Eugene was third with 1.70m.
