Page 2 offers a final tribute to sprint queen and three-time Olympic gold medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who was recently honoured at Nike’s “A Night of Excellence” reception by the AC Hotel Kingston’s poolside deck. In expressing her gratitude for the decade-plus partnership she has shared with Nike, Fraser-Pryce also took the opportunity to acknowledge those who contributed to her achievements prior to her final appearance at the National Senior Championships this weekend.
“I am a proud Jamaican because you have shown me love in the ups and the downs, and ultimately it is you who have helped to nuture [me], to give me that spirit of pride and unwavering support and the recognition to stand on the track and know that I carry a nation behind me,” Fraser-Pryce said.
Following the tributes, guests enjoyed a performance by dancehall artiste Busy Signal, who rolled through his catalogue of hits while paying homage to Fraser-Pryce’s legendary career.
