Issa Trust Foundation featured in AAP Global Health Newsletter
KINGSTON, Jamaica- The Issa Trust Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Couples Resorts, was recently featured in the American Academy of Paediatrics Global Health Newsletter for work it did to boost neonatal training in Jamaica.
The American Academy of Paediatrics is a professional organisation of paediatricians committed to the optimal physical, mental, and social health and well-being of infants, children, and adolescents.
It recognised the foundation’s key role in facilitating the strategic partnerships that helped make the Neonatal Nurses’ Essential Training and Skills (NNETS) Program a reality at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston.
Diane Pollard, president of the Issa Trust Foundation said,“ Being featured in the AAP Global Health Newsletter is a meaningful honor and it shines a light on the collective work being done in Jamaica and affirms that our efforts are part of a larger, global movement to improve the lives of children through equitable, sustainable health care.”
In collaboration with the Southeast Regional Health Authority, the MERU Foundation, and dedicated US neonatology experts, the program was developed to strengthen hands-on neonatal care locally.
The foundation says it reflects a shared commitment to sustainable, measurable health care improvements for Jamaica’s newborns and children.
