NACAC U18/U23 Championships postponed to 2026 — JAAA

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) has confirmed that the NACAC Under-18 and Under-23 Track and Field Championships previously set for August have been pushed to 2026.

In a statement Saturday, the JAAA said it had been advised of the development, which pushed the NACAC championships to June 5-7, 2026 and the Pan-American Under-20 Athletics Championships to October 3-5, 2025.

“Both changes are very disappointing to us and our athletics development programme. At the moment, the JAAA does not intend to participate in the Pan-American U20 Athletics Championships given the rescheduled date,” it said.

The association will still send 16 U20 athletes (7 Girls, 9 Boys) as part of the 51-member Junior Pan Am Games team selected to participate in Asuncion, Paraguy from August 18-22, in a bid to keep athletes engaged and encouraged.

The JAAA said that team will be publicised in a few days after it has been ratified.
