7Krave introduces Autopay to university students for seamless grocery, meal shopping

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Popular food delivery company 7Krave has expanded its business and has partnered with the University of the West Indies to offer students meal solutions tailored to not only meet their everyday needs but to do so hassle-free.

Speaking with Observer Online, Mishka Cranston, sales and marketing manager at 7Krave, expressed that as university students try to balance the books, grocery shopping or meal preparation can prove difficult.

She revealed that having acknowledged the struggle, her team wanted to make it easier for students to access either groceries or ready-made meals at affordable prices. Fast-food options will be supported through the 7Krave app with an option to do grocery shopping via the company’s 7KraveMart (also available on the app).

“This initiative is about more than just food delivery, it’s about building a support system for students as they transition into and throughout university life. We launched this programme to provide immediate access to groceries and meals, ease the burden on parents and contribute to a thriving campus community,” she said. “But even more than that, we want 7Krave to grow with them (the students), to be the brand they trust throughout university and beyond. As they build their future, we want our presence to feel like home — reliable and accessible. This is how we became a household name, not just through service, but through shared experiences and real impact.”

Dubbed 7Krave Autopay – College Edition, the initiative got underway on July 20 with an activation roll-out on the UWI campus. Cranston said the event was well-supported with students and parents alike looking to join the 7Krave family. 7Krave Autopay – College Edition will help students stick to a designated food budget and will allow parents the opportunity to offer financial assistance.

“Understanding the challenges students face when managing food budgets, we’ve designed a simple and convenient autopay plan for parents. Through this plan, parents can securely set up their card for recurring grocery orders either monthly or bi-weekly ensuring consistent support for their children throughout the school term,” she explained. “Students will enjoy consistent grocery supply without the stress of budgeting or planning. Everybody wins!”

7Krave will also be offering additional support through sponsorship of key campus events as well as food drives and community support via 7Krave Box.

“We plan to integrate our presence into campus life by supporting meaningful student events that offer incredible opportunities for us to align our brand with student culture, entertainment and creativity. This will further demonstrate that we are more than a grocery delivery service, but a company that celebrates and supports student life,” Cranston said, also explaining the company’s food drive intent. “This food drive initiative allows us to care for the community we serve. As part of our social impact mission, we’ve started including essential grocery items in select 7Krave boxes for students or individuals facing food insecurity. Whether it’s someone who doesn’t have anything to eat that day or is simply going through a difficult time, our aim is to fill that gap without stigma.”
