KINGSTON, Jamaica  —  After a shutdown due to a fire in May, Krispy Kreme Waterloo has reopened its doors bringing back the joy of fresh doughnuts to its loyal customers and doing it with more energy, gratitude, and flavours than ever before.

The store, which also functions as the brand’s central doughnut production facility, suspended operations on May 31, after a fire resulted in damage to critical equipment.

While no serious injuries were reported, one team member was taken to the hospital as a precaution due to smoke exposure. Since then, the company has worked closely with emergency responders, the fire department, and safety consultants to complete assessments, repairs, and reinforce fire safety protocols.“We are absolutely fired up to reopen and reconnect with our amazing supporters,” said Senior Brand Manager Tiffany Wiggan.

“This unfortunate incident underscored the strength of our brand and the deep connection it holds with our guests, as evidenced by the outpouring of affection across multiple channels. We emerge from this experience stronger and sweeter than ever,” added Wiggan.

To mark the reopening, Krispy Kreme celebrated with a giveaway of 1,000 free doughnuts spanning a number of activities across their locations.

The company has also launched a bold new flavour, the “Ring of Fire”; a fiery-sweet strawberry-lemon and mint creation that pays tribute to the brand’s resilience and the passion of its team.

Wiggan shared that the new offering was crafted especially for the comeback. According to Wiggan, the reopening signals the full restoration of doughnut production across Krispy Kreme’s Jamaica network, and the team is eager to once again serve up the hot, fresh doughnuts customers love.

Krispy Kreme, operated by franchise holders, Restaurant Associates Ltd, entered the Jamaican market in 2023 with its flagship store on Waterloo Road, Krispy Kreme.

The brand has since expanded to an additional three locations: West Parade, Manor Park, and Portmore Mall, with a fifth location pending.
