Bail extended for TikToker Kemar ‘Candy’ Jones
KINGSTON, Jamaica — TikToker Kemar Jones, more popularly known as “Candy”, had his bail extended when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Tuesday.
He is facing a charge of wounding with intent.
A bench warrant had been issued for Jones after he failed to appear in court on June 28, 2025.
When questioned by Presiding Judge Peter Wilson about his absence, Jones explained that his home had burned down and he was injured in the fire, requiring medical attention. However, he did not provide a medical certificate to support his claim.
Judge Wilson expressed doubt about the explanation but agreed to vacate the bench warrant and extend his bail.
“If a nuh you a stab up somebody or a war with somebody, a somebody a war with you… It cheaper we keep you,” Wilson said.
Despite scepticism, Wilson said he would give Jones another opportunity, assigning a legal aid attorney to represent him going forward.
Both the complainant and investigating officer were absent from court when the case was called.
Jones is scheduled to return to court on October 3, 2025, with a strict warning from the judge not to miss the date else he will face the consequences.
In May, Jones was cleared of an assault at common law charge stemming from a physical altercation with another man.
