Tasha T, Atika DM make cross-globe connection
Recording artistes Tasha T and Atika DM have come together on a new collaboration titled Beautiful Lady.
Produced by RasVibe Records Inc (Tasha T’s label) and Paul “Patchy” Wright of Islandyard Productions, the track was released on June 27. Other musicians on the track include Jermaine Williams, Kaelon Wright, and Lynford “Fatta” Marshall.
“This track is a romantic refrain about a couple expressing their love for each other. It brings together the rich, melodic spirit of lovers’ rock with contemporary flair and heartfelt emotion. Lovers of smooth reggae and Afrocentric grooves will enjoy the soulful storytelling,” Tasha T said.
A first-time collaboration between the artistes, the pair built a friendship after connecting on social media in 2015.
With Atika DM hailing from South Senegal and Tasha T hailing from Toronto, Canada, the two were able to build a synergy and bring their distinct sounds together on one track.
“The working relationship has been great. I love working with him. I love his work ethic, his humility, drive and the love of reggae music. I look forward to doing more work with him in the near future,” Tasha T continued.
Since its release, the track has been well received.
“Based on the responses from the stage shows and interviews, I know that my music is reaching the hearts of the people. My hope for this song is to get Atika and myself more exposure on the African continent. In addition, we want to reach more people across the world from all walks of life with this lovers’ rock,” the singer said.
Tasha T is currently in the process of mixing her third album, with the first single slated for release later this year, along with a music video that will be shot in London, UK.
In addition, the music video for Beautiful Lady will be shot in Senegal in December 2025.
On the performance side, she’s gearing up to do some more shows in the United Kingdom, after which she will be heading to France in August.
After her stop in Europe, she will be heading to Africa at the end of 2025 into 2026, with performances scheduled in Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, and Gambia.
