KINGSTON, Jamaica — A brother and sister had several charges laid against them in relation to an alleged attack on a teenager on Old Port Henderson Road, Spanish Town, St Catherine, on Friday, August 22.

Arising from the incident, 18-year-old Tamera Thomas of Garbally Drive, Spanish Town, has been charged with wounding with intent.

Her brother, 24-year-old porter and delivery assistant, Akeem Thomas, of the same address, has been charged with
assault at common law, possession of prohibited weapon, and using a firearm to commit a felony.

Reports from the Spanish Town police are that about 6:00 pm, Tamera and other relatives visited a teenage girl’s house, and an argument developed. The argument escalated, and a fight ensued.

During the scuffle, the girl received a stab wound to her back. After the initial incident, Akeem reportedly went to the teen’s house, grabbed her and allegedly pointed a firearm at her.

A report was made to the police, and the two were taken into custody a day later. They were subsequently charged.

Their court date is being finalised.
