CIBC Caribbean partners with UWJ to empower at-risk boys through 40th anniversary banquet
KINGSTON, Jamaica — CIBC Caribbean has announced its sponsorship of the United Way of Jamaica’s (UWJ) 40th Anniversary Banquet Dinner, set to take place in October.
The milestone event will celebrate four decades of impactful service to communities across Jamaica, supporting programmes in education, health, community development, and disaster response.
Proceeds from the dinner will go toward the development of new infrastructure to support at-risk boys, creating a safe space for life skills training, cognitive behavioural therapy, mentorship, employability training, and entrepreneurship development.
CIBC says this initiative reflects UWJ’s long-standing mission of empowering vulnerable populations and fostering sustainable opportunities for growth.
Annique Dawkins, head of country at CIBC Caribbean Jamaica, stated, “At CIBC Caribbean, we believe in the power of community and collaboration. The United Way of Jamaica has been a beacon of hope for 40 years, touching lives and transforming communities. We are proud to support this milestone celebration as we continue to work together in building a stronger, more resilient Jamaica.”
Kerry Lee Lynch, officer in charge of the United Way of Jamaica, expressed gratitude.
“The unwavering support from corporate partners such as CIBC Caribbean allows us to extend our reach and impact. As we celebrate 40 years of service, we remain committed to mobilising resources and uniting efforts for the betterment of Jamaicans,” she said.
