Author Kadian Snow has turned an unfortunate life experience into the publication of a series of books.

The US-based author, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Management Studies, continues to bask in the success of each work.

“I got into writing after a traumatic event in Jamaica which altered my mental health and I started therapy for my illness. I was advised by my therapist in Jamaica, Mrs Helogeen Hepburn to journal my thoughts to help me to over my traumatic experience. I followed her advice and journaled so much that I decided that I would turn my journal into a book to help readers overcome divorce or a breakup while living with major depression, PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and Schizoeffective disorder,” she told the Jamaica Observer.

The books have included: The Rasta Farmer; Choose Your Friends Wisely; FITS; Jaylia On The Farm; Lucky On The Farm; What I Wish I Told My Mom: I Was Raped and Silenced; Self Publishing Guide; and Ramping.

Audio books are available for The Rasta Farmer and Jaylia On The Farm, as well as other books, namely Black Woman is Queen: Pamper Up, and The Silent P.

They are available for purchase on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

The author continues to use her journey as a testament to overcoming and thriving after experiencing difficulties.

“I would like readers to realise that they can still follow their dreams despite living with illness with the help from God and staying determined. They can challenge themselves to overcome traumatic events that are set to hinder them just by trying and trusting in God and the universe and thinking positive,” she reasoned.

With role models including Michael Anthony, J K Rowling, and Oprah Winfrey, Snow has other books in the works.

“The next thing on my agenda is an audiobook for Lucky On The Farm children’s book and a book called Living with a Mental Illness As a Black Woman. I’m writing now to release by next year,” she said.
