KINGSTON, Jamaica — Member of Parliament for St Andrew North Central, Delano Seiveright, on Tuesday met with the Smokey Vale Citizens Association and senior members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, led by Superintendent Randy Sweeney, to address safety and security concerns following the recent killing of 18-year-old Jada Pollard.

Pollard, who was a student of the Queen’s High School, was shot and murdered during a house break-in on Monday, September 18.

During the meeting, residents and law enforcement discussed enhanced private security measures, including the installation of cameras at entry and exit points, improved street lighting and stronger collaboration between the police and the community.

Seiveright also urged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward, noting that Crime Stop Jamaica is offering a $250,000 reward for details leading to the arrest and charge of those responsible. Members of the public are encouraged to call 311 with any information.

He further reaffirmed his commitment to working hand in hand with residents and the police to restore peace of mind, strengthen security and ensure justice for Jada.
