Mt Pleasant FC to meet Defence Force in two-way Concacaf semis

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Mt Pleasant FA will play Trinidadian team Defence Force FC in the two-way semi-finals of the Concacaf Caribbean Cup competition after the group stages ended on Wednesday, it was announced a day later.

Mt Pleasant FA qualified for the semi-finals of the competition after topping Group A with a perfect 12 points, winning all four games, without conceding a goal.

Defence Force FC were runners-up in Group B with seven points, edging Barbadian outfit Weymouth Wales on goal-difference after beating leaders Cibao FC 2-0 in their final group game in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday.

The first leg will be played on Wednesday, October 22 in Trinidad with the return leg set for Kingston seven days later, October 29.

In the other semi-final, two clubs from the Dominican Republic, O&M FC and Cibao will meet on October 23 and 30, to decide the finalist.

Defending champions, Cavalier SC of Jamaica, who had contested the two previous finals, were knocked out in the group stages.
