KINGSTON, Jamaica – Toll collection on the new Phase 1C segment of the PJ Patterson Highway from May Pen to Williamsfield is scheduled to commence on December 1, 2025, TransJamaican Highway Limited has formally announced. This date marks the latest confirmed start point for revenue operations on the completed road extension.

The company clarified that this timeline follows the execution of a Concession Agreement between its wholly-owned subsidiary, TransJam Highway Operators Limited (THO), and the National Road Operating and Constructing Company (NROCC) on October 23, 2025. The agreement grants THO the right to operate, maintain, and collect tolls from the new section.

The announcement provides a firm target for the beginning of toll operations, following previous projections for the start date which had been subject to adjustment as the project reached its final stages.

The concession period for the road is set to run from the December 1, 2025 effective date until June 1, 2038, securing the subsidiary’s operational control of the asset for approximately twelve and a half years.

The May Pen to Williamsfield section represents a significant easterly extension of the East-West leg of Highway 2000, officially named the PJ Patterson Highway. The new segment is expected to enhance connectivity significantly for motorists travelling to and from central Jamaican parishes such as Manchester.

TransJamaican Highway Limited, through its subsidiaries, is the existing operator of the major toll corridors in Jamaica, including the original Highway 2000 and the East-West segment from Kingston to May Pen.

Stakeholders will now await further details from the company and NROCC regarding the specific toll rates and any ancillary arrangements ahead of the December start date.
