KINGSTON, Jamaica – Hyundai Jamaica extended its support to the people of Trelawny on Wednesday bringing essential aid to several communities severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

Building on a recent collaboration with the Christopher Martin Foundation and Bright Beginnings Charity Group, and partnering with the FYI Consultancy Group, the mission reached residents across Zion, Granville, Falmouth, Reserve, Sherwood, Perth Town, Salt Marsh, New Town, and Johnson Hill.

Operating from its central base at William Knibb High School in Martha Brae the team worked alongside several partners to provide vital assistance to families and children affected by the storm.

As part of its contribution, Magna Motors Dealership Limited, the exclusive distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Jamaica, deployed a fleet of Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles to access remote communities that were difficult to reach due to debris and flooding. One vehicle was equipped with Starlink satellite internet, allowing residents to connect with relatives and emergency services. Hyundai also provided purified water and medical kits to support health and well-being during the recovery process.

The company says the effort was further strengthened through partnerships with the JN Foundation, St John’s Ambulance, Digicel Foundation, Purity Bakery, and Roklan Generators, who provided relief packages, volunteer support, and power solutions that enabled residents at William Knibb High School to charge devices and stay connected.
