Rideallday blows away competition in Mouttet Mile
The stage was set for a thrilling showdown in the fourth staging of the prestigious Mouttet Mile on Saturday, December 6, 2025. With a US$300,000 purse on the line, the largest in the English-speaking Caribbean, the atmosphere was electric, and the stakes were higher than ever.
In a commanding performance, Rideallday, trained by Philip Feanny and ridden by Javier Castellano, destroyed rivals by 9 lengths in the Graded Stakes contest for three-year-olds and upward over one mile (1,600m). The winning time was 1:36.4 (23.1 x 45.0 x 1:10.0), a new stakes record.
The Supreme Racing Guide of the Jamaica Observer analyses the outcome of the Mouttet Mile.
FIRST — RIDEALLDAY (USA): Rideallday’s Mouttet Mile triumph was a jaw-dropping, edge-of-your-seat spectacle. Fresh off a length and a quarter win in the Port Royal Sprint, this horse showed he’s not just a flash in the pan — he’s a force. With grit etched on his face, Rideallday played the waiting game perfectly, biding his time through the half-mile turn. Then, like a bullet, he unleashed the afterburners in deep stretch, leaving rivals in the dust. Seven wins from eight starts this season, and the Horse of the Year title is practically his to claim
SECOND — LEGACY ISLE (USA): Legacy Isle gave it a solid go in the Mouttet Mile, but just couldn’t top Rideallday. With five wins from eight starts this season, he was a contender — broke well, positioned smart, kicked clear at the right time…just met his match
THIRD — FUNCAANDUN (USA): Funcaandun, the defending Mouttet Mile champ, proved his staying power with a solid third place. Breaking from the tricky #1 draw, he navigated a tough path like a pro, digging deep to grab valuable purse money. Despite not repeating the win, Funcaandun’s enduring quality was on full display, he’s still a force in the mix. Now, will he bounce back stronger? The anticipation’s building.
FOURTH — SUPERNATURAL POWER (USA): Didn’t quite go her way, but she dug deep to grab fourth place in a stacked field. Supernatural Power continues to show class and talent and she will definitely be a force to reckon with next year.
FIFTH — DIGITAL ONE (USA): Did extremely well to fifth. Digital One is expected to continue making progress next season.
SIXTH — PACK PLAYS (USA): Finished in the same position as he did last year. He prompted the pace for most of the way but faltered in the latter stages of the race. Pack Plays has shown a preference for sprinting and is likely to be one of the dominant runners in the short-distance races in 2026.
SEVENTH — TIZ TOK (USA): Tiz Tok’s performance in the Mouttet Mile was disappointing but still was able to go home earning.
EIGHTH — NAUGHTICAL STAR (USA): Highly-rated foreigner who made his local debut in the Mouttet Mile. Based on training, Nautical Star was considered a strong contender for this race, but ultimately failed to deliver. Despite this, Nautical Star is expected to return strong in the future.
NINTH — GIRVANO (USA): Ran as expected, never threatening the top contenders. However, he managed to secure a share of the purse, which is paid out to the top 10 finishers.
TENTH — MOJITO: After his win in the Jamaica Cup, Mojito was touted to figure in the Mouttet Mile. Mojito never lived up to that expectation finishing down the track.
ELEVENTH — UNSPUN (USA): Was never a factor in the Mouttet Mile.
TWELFTH — CHAMPION BUBBLER (USA): Failed to make an impact in the Mouttet Mile.
THIRTEENTH — SENSATIONAL SOUL: At least he finished ahead of two runners.
FOURTEENTH — MAIN MISTRESS (USA): Was clearly out of her league in the Mouttet Mile.
FIFTEENTH — DOTHRAKI (USA): Ran as expected, never threatening the top contenders.
