Ras-I unveils Reggae Mountain (Feel No Way)
Acclaimed reggae singer-songwriter Ras-I ushers in a powerful new chapter of his musical journey with the release of Reggae Mountain (Feel No Way), the first single from his upcoming third studio album.
The artiste says the track marks a bold step forward in artistry, production, and intention, signalling the arrival of a more seasoned, refined Ras-I, one who has found the perfect balance between traditional roots and modern creativity.
“I chose this song because it sets the tone for the album. We’re bringing feel-good reggae music, and this track captures that energy from the very first note,” Ras-I shares.
Built on a classic drum-and-bass rhythm and enriched with live instrumentation, Reggae Mountain (Feel No Way) draws inspiration from reggae legends such as Dennis Brown, Steel Pulse, and other great teachers of the genre, while presenting a sound unmistakably his own.
For Ras-I, the single is spiritual upliftment wrapped in the warmth of roots reggae.
“It carries an energy and a feeling that’s already resonating with lovers of the music. This is my way of adding to the ripple effect reggae continues to create worldwide,” he explained.
The single also pushes back against the narrative that reggae’s influence has faded.
“I got tired of hearing people say reggae nah gwaan wid nothing. This song is my reminder of how powerful reggae music really is,” he added.
As the lead single for the upcoming album, Reggae Mountain (Feel No Way) offers the first glimpse into the maturity shaping Ras-I’s new body of work. “The sound is a lot more mature now. I’ve found the balance,” he said.
Since the release of his début album Tsojourna (2019), Ras-I has carved a lane of his own. His sophomore album Kingman (2021) further cemented his reputation for message-driven, genre-transcending work.
The album, which is recorded with 90 per cent live sounds, promises themes of self-reflection, vulnerability, and affirmation, boldly entering a creative era where sonic quality, emotional honesty, and cultural intention align.
Reggae Mountain (Feel No Way) is available via Ineffable Records and was officially released December 12, 2025.
