Vere Tech teacher wins Courts Stop, Shop and Roll promotion
THE Christmas season brought more than celebration for Carrie Davis, an English Language teacher at Vere Technical High School, who received the keys to a new 2025 Toyota RAV4 after winning the Courts Jamaica ‘Stop, Shop and Roll’ summer promotion.
The official handover took place on December 23 at Toyota Jamaica, turning what Davis described as a moment of disbelief into an unforgettable gift for her and her family.
“I honestly did not believe it at first,” Davis is quoted in a news release. “I even went to the May Pen Courts store to confirm it was real. Receiving this prize just before Christmas was a tremendous blessing to my entire family and made the season truly unforgettable.”
For Davis, the win represents a moment of hope and faith actualised. Having recently completed her principal training through the National College for Educational Leadership while supporting two children in college, she shared that the absence of a reliable motor vehicle had delayed her from pursuing certain career opportunities.
“This vehicle has removed the one thing that was holding me back. It has given me the confidence to move forward with my goals and carry out my day-to-day life with greater freedom and ease,” added Davis.
Philip Roach, Unicomer commercial director, said the moment reflected the true spirit of the season.
“At Courts, we believe in rewarding our customers in ways that truly impact their lives,” the release quoted Roach.
“Seeing the joy this win has brought to Ms Davis and her family reminds us that these promotions offer moments of possibility and progress to many,” added Davis.
The Stop, Shop and Roll summer promotion allowed customers to earn entries with qualifying purchases at Courts and Courts Optical, with additional chances for those shopping on credit. Monthly prizes included a TCL 98-inch television and $100,000 in supermarket gift certificates.
As Davis prepared for her first drive — a visit to Chapelton to see family — she said the win stands as a fitting story of faith, perseverance, and unexpected joy made possible through Courts Jamaica.
