Man U to continue winning ways against Tottenham in EPL action

Red Hot Manchester United will aim to extend their winning run when they host struggling Tottenham at Old Trafford tomorrow, Saturday, February 7, then later that day Arsenal will continue their relentless run to their first league title in over two decades when they host Sunderland at the Emirates.

Event # 1 –EPL– MA United vs Tottenham– 7:30AM

Manchester United return to Old Trafford to face Tottenham with momentum building under new Coach Michael Carrick at the business end of the Premier League season. Indeed, three wins from their last four matches have shifted the narrative, with pundits and fans alike saying the Red Devils are a shoo-in for Champions League football next season. The rejuvenated Manchester United enter this match off the back of a 3-2 home win against Fulham in a game that underlines the confidence that the team is playing with at the moment. That result came off the back of impressive league victories away at Arsenal and Manchester City, signalling a clear upward trend for the Red Devils against high level oppositions; in fact, those two wins over the league’s top two sides mean that Man United have now beaten all the sides inside the top six this season.

Tottenham arrives at the Theatre of Dreams with a mixed domestic form, but with clear attacking intent. Indeed, recent draws in the league and wins in Europe means that Tottenham can be a dangerous teams if they can click when it matters. Tottenham come into this crucial match off the back of a 2-2draw with title-chasing Manchester City after falling two goals before half-time, a result that reflected their strengths and weakness in equal measure. This seems to be a pattern that has appeared repeatedly in league play for Tottenham as draws away at Burnley and another at home to Man City highlight a tendency to concede late goals, while wins over Frankfurt and Dortmund show that they can compete with the best at a high level. With that said, Tottenham’s away form provides some encouragement, with five wins from 12 matches on the road indicating that they perform well away from home. However, their recent Premier League form tells a more concerning story, with no wins in their last five matches and facing a Man United team high on confidence and scoring goals for fun doesn’t inspire confidence for the travelling Tottenham fans.

Key Stats

• Man United is unbeaten in the last five Premier League matches, winning three and drawing two.

• Tottenham is winless in the last five Premier League matches but unbeaten in the last two away matches.

• Both sides – The recent head-to-head record heavily favours Tottenham, who have dominated this fixture with four wins from the last five clashes in all competitions, with the other game ending in a draw.

The betting Tip. Man United win.

Event # EPL– Arsenal vs Sunderland – 10:00AM

Premier League leaders Arsenal look set to extend their lead atop the table when they host Sunderland at the Emirates tomorrow, Saturday, February 7. The Gunners, Arsenal, have been the most consistent team in the Premier League so far this season and head into this game having battered Leeds away 4-0 in their last game. Indeed, Arsenal has turned the Emirates into a fortress, having won nine games, drawing two, and losing just once so far this season. With Sunderland travelling to the Emirates, Arsenal will be confident of another win as Sunderland’s last away win against the Gunners was in 2002.

Meanwhile, promoted side Sunderland is enjoying a solid first campaign back in the top flight of English football and sit comfortably in mid-table, with the record of being the only side left in the league that is yet to lose a home game in the Premier League. Indeed, they travel to Arsenal in good spirits after a dominant 3-0 win over Burnley in their last game. Interestingly, when both teams met earlier in the season, Sunderland managed to take points off the Gunners in a 2-2 draw at home. With that said, Sunderland’s recent form shows them winning three times and losing twice, suggesting inconsistency that could prove costly against the league leaders Arsenal, who have turned their home stadium into a fortress.

Key Stats

• Arsenal is unbeaten in the last five Premier League games against Sunderland.

• Sunderland is winless in the last seven away overall matches against Arsenal.

• Both sides-Sunderland’s last win away at Arsenal was in 2002. Since then Arsenal has gone unbeaten in the last 13 matches against Sunderland.

The betting Tip. Arsenal win.
