Felecia Robinson’s V-Day Sweet Treats

Felecia Robinson laid out a Valentine’s Day table with some of her favourites for Thursday Food as we delve into her story of sweet persistence and artistry. Growing up with an aunt who was always baking, she inherited not just recipes but a love for the craft. By the time she reached high school, she was already studying food and nutrition formally; even now she still teaches herself through trial and error.

Her passion has evolved into a signature style that blends nostalgia with indulgence. Robinson has an affinity for dark fruitcakes and cheesecakes, but her repertoire is wide and imaginative. Standout creations include her Black Forest Luxe, Pink Champagne, Red Velvet with berry filling, and an ever-expanding collection of cheesecakes. Cheesecakes, she admits, are her true preference.

“Cheesecakes are intricate, delicate, and challenging. I didn’t know if I could make one at all, until I tried, succeeded, and then I began exploring as many variations,” Robinson expressed.

“The response has been extremely positive with reviews of can’t get enough and at times overwhelming for me as I know there are many talented bakers around. I want people to think of my cakes as memorable and for them to be left with a feeling of nostalgia. Cakes are done in times of celebration and I want to know that I contributed to the joy in the occasion. For Valentine’s Day, this spread captures both romance and indulgence, and one of the best occasions for decadence,” Robinson added.
