Fire at the Retirement Dump
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Firefighters have responded to a fire at the Retirement Dump in St James.
The blaze was noticed just before 3:00 pm, and the brigade alerted.
Two units from the Montego Bay station have responded to the scene.
According to reports, a tractor has also been deployed to assist with efforts to contain the blaze.
It’s uncertain what led to the blaze, which comes after heavy rain blanketed the area yesterday.
The smoke has been rising since that time and has been steadily making its way into areas such as Reading and Bogue.
