Golding must disclose if JACDEN helped to fund PNP’s election campaign — Young Jamaica
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Young Jamaica is urging Opposition Leader and President of the People’s National Party (PNP), Mark Golding, to immediately clarify whether JACDEN—owned by St Andrew East Central Member of Parliament Dennis Gordon and involved in a tax probe— made campaign donations to the PNP ahead of the September 3, 2025 general election.
In a media release on Monday, the group said Golding must disclose the total amount, if any, donated by JACDEN to the PNP between January 2022 and September 2025.
“Young Jamaica is of the view that the public has a right to know whether JACDEN, which is owned by Dennis Gordon, and benefited from what the auditor general described as an unlawful and inappropriate process, used those ill-gotten benefits to help fund the PNP’s general election campaign,” It said.
JACDEN Limited was among four companies cited in an Auditor General’s Department report highlighting entities that were illegally benefitting from the University Hospital of the West Indies’ tax-exempt status.

Young Jamaica had immediately called for Gordon to step down as PNP Region 3 chairman and Member of Parliament following the findings.
On Sunday, Golding revealed that Gordon had been instructed to step aside from the PAC and the shadow cabinet amid the ongoing investigations.

However, Young Jamaica further reiterated its call for Gordon to step down from his posts, arguing that recusal from the PAC and the shadow Cabinet is insufficient.
It also renewed its demand for Julian Robinson to resign as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee.
