Penn Relays high school girls’ 4x400m final promises fireworks
PHILADELPHIA, United States — Friday’s high school girls’ 4x400m Championships of Americas final, the last high school event on the second day of the 130th Penn Relays Carnival at Franklin Field, could be an epic event.
Three teams, all Jamaicans, ran sub 3:40.00 minutes times, led by Hydel High, who are going after a fourth straight win, and ran 3:39.55 minutes on Thursday’s preliminaries.
Edwin Allen High were a stride behind with 3:39.56 minutes with Holmwood Technical clocking 3:39.82 minutes.
Alphansus Davis High are also through to the final with 3:44.81 minutes with Bullis School of Maryland, the top American challenge, ran the fourth fastest time of 3:40.24 minutes while another Maryland school, Bishop McNamara ran 3:43.33 minutes.
Immaculate Conception clocked 3:47.08 minutes; St Elizabeth Technical returned 3:47.44 minutes; Sydney Pagon STEM 3:47.92 minutes; William Knibb Memorial 3:48.77 minutes; Manchester High 3:51.63 minutes; Alpha Academy 3:54.72 minutes and Port Antonio High- 3:59.83 minutes.
