Two killed, others injured in Ocho Rios bar shooting
ST ANN, Jamaica — Two men were shot dead and two others injured during a gun attack at a bar in Ocho Rios, St Ann Thursday night.
The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Stevie Drake, otherwise called Six, of Great Pond in Ocho Rios, and 56-year-old Basil Arthurs, a Ministry of Health worker from Top Bay in Discovery Bay.
Reports are that about 9:00 pm, Drake and Arthurs were among patrons at a bar when a lone gunman opened fire on the group. The attacker then reportedly fled the scene in a waiting motorcar.
After the shooting subsided, Arthurs and two other injured individuals were assisted to hospital by residents, where they were admitted in serious condition.
The police were alerted and, upon arrival, found Drake lying on the ground with gunshot wounds. He was then transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Arthurs later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
