Mister and Mister Teen Universe International Jamaica pageants underway

Preparations for the staging of two male pageants, Mister Teen Universe International Jamaica and Mister Universe International Jamaica, are currently underway.

Each pageant has five delegates competing for the titles. The finals will take place on June 21.

Geovani Lewin is the national coordinator for both pageants.

“We opened applications mid-February to give as many young men as possible the opportunity to participate in the pageant. We aimed to have 10 contestants, five for Mister and five Mister Teens. It was difficult, seeing the length of the pageant and the commitment it would take, we cycled through many interested individuals and I’m glad to say we recently settled on our prime 10 candidates,” Lewin told Observer Online on Tuesday.

The competitors comprise university students, business professionals and recent university graduates. A former Digicel Rising Stars top 5 finalist is among the delegates.

Jamaica’s representative to the 2025 Mr Teen Universe International, 21-year-old Caribbean Maritime University student Bradley Clarke, finished in third place overseas.

Lewin says Clarke’s success has opened eyes to the local pageant.

“Bradley’s second runner-up placement was both historic and inspiring, and it has set the stage for a lot of young men in Jamaica to see Mister Universe International as a viable option for self-development and empowerment,” Lewin stated.

He added, “As a new pageant, we’re finding our footing with setting the standard for ourselves as well as others looking on. So, it’s been a challenge, but one that the organisation invites. Our team is committed, our partners are aligned, and we’re moving intentionally towards a successful staging.”

Training of the ten delegates began a week ago and will culminate with the finals on June 21. Last weekend, the official photo shoot took place in Portmore.

The Mister Universe International Jamaica targets delegates over the age of 22, while teenagers and persons as old as 21 are the primary target for the Mr Teen Universe International Jamaica pageant.
