St Elizabeth man fatally stabbed, 19-y-o son in custody

ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Police are reporting that a teenager is in custody following the stabbing death of his father in Mountainside, St Elizabeth on Tuesday.

Police named the victim as Gary Allwood, 53, a resident of Love Lane district in Mountainside.

Preliminary reports are that about 1:00 pm, the father and son had an argument when a knife and a pair of scissors were used to stab Allwood.

He was taken to hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.

The man’s 19-year-old son was subsequently taken into police custody and is the primary suspect in the homicide, police say.
