‘Diverse’ new album coming, says D’Yani
Recording artiste D’Yani will be launching a new reggae album this August, and he says the music will have a unique feel.
Speaking during the Reggae in the Gardens show at Barbados Reggae Weekend on Sunday, D’Yani told journalists, “The new album is a little bit diverse from what I normally do. It’s reggae music completely through and through, ska, reggae one drop, normally I am a dancehall [artiste] probably a little bit of R&B, but this is more Live a Little type of vibes.”
Noting that he couldn’t pick a favourite track from his discography, the Ride It artiste said, “I love all my songs…the D’Yani catalogue.”
As for the upcoming addition to that catalogue, the Jamaican maintained that he is excited, as it has been a long time coming.
“I’m really looking forward to it and you hearing it. This album took about eight years. I’ve been making music from high school, and some of the songs are eight years old, older than my music career,” D’Yani said.
He added, “I am just really grateful to be doing what I am doing, and I am thankful for every single person who is supporting.”
