Reno FC seek share of Group B lead in JFF Championship
Reno FC will be hoping to move into a share of the lead in Group B of the Jamaica Football Championships today when they host Falmouth United in a return-round game at Llandilo Sports Complex, starting at 3:30 pm.
Reno are joint-second on 24 points with fellow Westmoreland team Roaring River, and a win would see them draw level with leaders Humble Lion.
Falmouth are two places behind on 18 points and will be aiming to keep their semi-final hopes alive after edging Reno 1-0 in their first round meeting.
Reno are coming off a 2-1 loss to St Bess United on Saturday and will be seeking to rebound while avenging that earlier defeat to Falmouth.
Kayvon Donaldson leads Falmouth with six goals, followed by Ahmal Nugent-Hudson with five and Phelan Christie with four.
Former Montego Bay United Premier League winner Nazime Grant leads Reno with four goals, while Everton Blackwood has scored three.
Tru-Juice FC and Humble Lion both maintained their positions at the top of their respective groups after wins over the weekend against Progressive FC and Petersfield FC, respectively.
Curtel Lawes and Daniel Roberts both scored hat-tricks as Tru-Juice hammered Progressive 9-0 to move to 28 points, leading Sakka Club Brown’s Town on goal difference, with Lime Hall Academy a point behind.
Both St Ann teams, Sakka Club Brown’s Town and Lime Hall Academy, lost on Saturday as Meadforest FC beat Sakka Club 3-2 and Jamaica Defence Force defeated Lime Hall 2-0.
Humble Lion beat Petersfield 3-1 to move to 27 points, four ahead of Roaring River and Reno.
