Greyt Magnum completes quick double In JRC Trophy
Greyt Magnum (He’stherealking – Winningitis), after releasing the tag last time out over 6 furlongs (1,200m), completed a quick double when he won the $700,000 Jamaica Racing Commission Trophy at Caymanas Park on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The four-year-old roan gelding came from off the pace to score, going away by 1¼ lengths over 7½ furlongs (1,500m), clocking 1:36.2. Splits were 24.2, 48.0, 1:14.4, and 1:29.1.
The race was a Restricted Allowance V contest for native-bred four-year-olds and upward (non-winners of two) and imported four-year-olds and upward (maidens).
Ridden by Reyan Lewis, Greyt Magnum was unhurried in the early exchanges as Treasure Isle (Phillip Parchment) showed the way down the backstretch, tracked by Black Ringo (Tevin Foster), Smoking Thom (Clive Lynch), and Nebuchadnezzar (Raddesh Roman).
Lewis continued to bide his time with Greyt Magnum until approaching the half-mile (800m) turn, when he began to improve his position. Swinging for home, Greyt Magnum was in full flight. He produced a strong run in deep stretch and powered clear of rivals to win comfortably.
Secret Sensation (Roger Hewitt) ran on well to take second, with Royal Maverick (Dane Dawkins) third.
