Disruption in motor vehicle registration services islandwide, says TAJ
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Motor vehicle registration-related transactions remain temporarily unavailable at all tax offices islandwide as well as online through eServices, Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has advised.
In a statement on Monday, TAJ said the issue is caused by ongoing system disruptions affecting the platform used to process these services.
As a result, customers are currently unable to complete motor vehicle registration transactions in-office or online, which includes renewal or new motor vehicle registration, transfer of vehicles or purchase of registration plates.
Payments for motor vehicle certificates of fitness and payment of traffic tickets are not affected and can still be completed through the TAJ eServices platform or in person at any tax office.
“Our technical team and service providers are actively engaged in resolving these issues and are working assiduously to restore full functionality in the shortest possible time,” TAJ said, adding, “TAJ sincerely regrets the inconvenience this disruption may cause and thanks customers for their continued patience, understanding, and cooperation as we work to normalise services.”
