Jada Kingdom reimagines Damian Marley classic in Still Searching visuals

Artiste Jada Kingdom continues to move with intention with the release of the official music video for Still Searching, a defining moment from one of her latest EPs Just A Girl In A Money Man’s World.

More than a visual, the release stands as a deliberate homage to Damian Marley, reworking the DNA of his 2001 classic through Jada’s lens of confidence, femininity, and control.

The release follows a strong creative run. Last month, Jada dropped New Religion, a four-track EP featuring Foggieraw, which explored romance, desire, and emotional study from a more intimate lens. It marked a distinct lane from Just A Girl In A Money Man’s World, continuing her pattern of shifting perspectives while expanding her sonic and thematic range without losing her core voice.

That momentum has also carried into the live space. She recently appeared at Barbados Reggae Weekend Festival, brought out by dancehall heavyweight Popcaan, and is set to perform at Citi Splash in London on May 25.

Just A Girl In A Money Man’s World has also earned widespread critical acclaim across Billboard, NME, Wonderland, Dancehall Mag, World Music Views, and more.

Billboard highlighted standout Don’t Talk To Me, praising Di Genius’ production and Jada’s delivery, noting the track continues “the legacy of women in dancehall assuming positions of power and control in their own sex-minded anthems”.

World Music Views described the EP as “capturing an artiste who understands the systems around her, moving through money, desire, and power on her own terms”.

The Source highlighted the release as a bold statement, while Wonderland noted that Jada “continues to set the standard for the genre”, calling the EP vibrant, sharply produced, and rooted in her exploration of womanhood and storytelling, with Still Searching standing out as a defining moment.

Meanwhile, Dancehall Mag described the project as “deliberate, controlled, and culturally locked in. The kind of project that doesn’t beg for attention yet commands it”.

Born and raised in the colourful yet challenging neighbourhood of 7 Mile Bull Bay (Gold Shore Lane), Jada Kingdom’s early life was shaped by resilience. Growing up she found comfort in family despite the obstacles. By the age of eight she had already begun writing poetry, revealing an early depth of creativity that would later define her artistry. Influenced by legends such as Nina Simone, Diana King, Sade, Minnie Riperton, and Amy Winehouse, she absorbed the emotion, storytelling, and musicality that continue to inform her sound today.

She has accumulated over 150 million streams on Spotify, 100 million streams on Apple Music, and more than 200 million views on YouTube, a testament to her magnetic presence and undeniable star power. Her collaborations with artistes such as John Legend, Popcaan, Vybz Kartel, Davido, Skillibeng, and Aluna further underscore her global reach.
