African and Caribbean nursery rhymes inspire young readers

FOR Read Across Jamaica Day 2026, The Repair Campaign partnered with educator and author Stephen Golding to bring storytelling, history, and culture to young readers across Kingston.

Golding and The Repair Campaign team visited Ethiopian Orthodox Holy Trinity Basic School, Marcus Garvey Basic School, and Seaview Gardens Primary School, reading from Daddy Marcus — Golding’s vibrant reimagining of classic nursery rhymes through African and Caribbean historical figures.
