Island Routes brings stories and smiles to Rose Heights Basic School

TRUE to its mission of supporting local education, team members from the Montego Bay-based Island Routes brought books, stories, and inspiration to the children of Rose Heights Basic School for this year’s Read Across Jamaica Day.

The team spent the morning engaging with the young learners, who were eager listeners and enthusiastic participants.

To extend the joy of reading beyond the day, the team also donated a collection of books to enhance the school’s literary resources and ensure the students have access to a variety of reading materials.

“Seeing the children’s faces light up as the stories came to life was a powerful reminder that literacy matters,” said Toni-Shea Grey, corporate communications and public relations specialist.

“We may have only spent a day with them, but we hope these small moments help ignite their curiosity and continue to fuel their love for learning,” added Grey.

In welcoming the visit and donation, Principal of Rose Heights Basic School Opal Medley said, “We are very grateful to Island Routes for visiting us and for their generous donation. Their support means a lot to our students and helps to encourage them to keep reading.”
