Vybz Kartel features on Chris Brown new album
Dancehall star Vybz Kartel is among the featured artistes on American R&B/pop singer Chris Brown’s 12th studio album BROWN (Breaking Rules Only When Necessary), which was released Friday via RCA Records/CBE.
The 27-track set also boasts collaborations with Bryson Tiller, Fridayy, GloRilla, Leon Thomas, Lucky Daye, Sexyy Red and Tank.
Vybz Kartel collaborates with Brown on the track F&!k N Party. The song was produced by T-Town.
This is the third time that a Jamaican-born dancehall artiste is featured a Chris Brown album.
In 2009, Sean Paul teamed up with Brown for the song Brown Skin Girl, which is featured on Brown’s album Graffiti. The song was produced by Scott Storch.
Brown’s 2023 album 11:11 featured the collaboration Nightmares with Jamaican-born Byron Messia. That song, which is a fusion of Afrobeats and dancehall, charted at #73 on the UK Singles chart and made it to #22 on Billboard’s R&B Songs chart.
Brown also collaborated with dancehall artiste Konshens for a remix of the Jamaican artiste’s hit song Bruk Off Yuh Back.
Elephant Man’s 2008 Grammy nominated album Lets Get Physical features the collaboration Feel the Steam with Chris Brown. Andrew Fennell and Willie Daniels shared production duties on that track.
