American producer, DJ, and recording artiste Freddy Browne, CEO of JHouse Entertainment who also has more than 20 years of experience with Sony Music, is completing his highly anticipated album, JHouse Vol 1.

Bringing together some of Jamaica’s biggest names in dancehall, it is set for release this summer. The album will feature tracks with Beenie Man, Agent Sasco, Tessanne Chin, Patra, J’Calm, T.O.K, Busy Signal, Ding Dong, Richie Stephens, AcYn, and Trinni.

AcYn is the first artiste signed to JHouse Entertainment, while Trinni is the label’s First Lady.

According to Browne, the recording process has been both productive and rewarding.

“The process has been great. Working in Miami at Inner Circle’s studio — Circle House — and working at Big Yard with Kamal [Evans], who’s an incredible engineer and producer in his own right, and it’s just getting better and better,” Browne said.

As the project nears completion, Browne said preserving the original vision and quality of the album has been a priority throughout every stage.

“Since working on the album, the most important elements have been the integrity of everything remaining the same. This includes the integrity of the mixes, the production, the sound beds, the initial vocal recording, the remixes, the artwork, and merchandise. I also want the artistes that are collaborating with me to be really happy and to love it as much as I do. That’s the energy that I want to always ride with,” he said.

One of the project’s most-anticipated collaborations is with dancehall trailblazer Patra.

“She’s amazing, super cool and she’s the first person I wanted on the project, and I was blessed to meet her when we did OnStage. Now, she’s the next single off the JHouse Vol 1 album, which is coming out this summer… she ‘killed’ it! The track is slammin’,” he said of the “Queen of the Pack”.

The producer also highlighted the strong chemistry that developed between himself and the artistes throughout the recording process, crediting that synergy for helping to create a unique body of work.

“That’s been next level from day one. Beenie Man, Agent Sasco, Tessanne Chin, J’Calm, Patra… they all came in. The chemistry and energy was there from the get-go and then the combination of the vocal performances, the lyrical content, the delivery — which is not their normal path — worked. With every track, it worked seamlessly. The whole album is loaded with bangers,” he explained.

Founded less than two years ago, JHouse Entertainment has already made significant strides, something Browne attributes to patience, consistency, and a clear vision for the brand.

“The best thing is to maintain my pace. The vision is very clear, but, to get everybody else to understand it and fully embrace and watch it grow in and outside of the country is a blessing. A little bit of patience also goes a long way. This whole thing is not even two years old and I can’t wait for what’s ahead. It’s a blast,” he added.

While JHouse Vol 1 places the spotlight on Jamaican talent, the project is the first chapter in a broader international series that will span multiple territories.

“I don’t think that there’s anywhere [in the world] that the music won’t hit. It’s inviting, the vocal performances are engaging — even if you don’t know the lyrics — you can’t question the heart of it all. This is the first volume which features all the amazing Jamaican artistes, and we’re placing our attention next on the UK. Volume three is Japan, and we’ll complete the four volumes in Africa,” he shared.
