Sabrina Dockery sets 100m PB while taking sprint double in Florida
KINGSTON, Jamaica — World Under-20 Championships relay gold medalist Sabrina Dockery ran a personal best 11.05 seconds (1.6m/s) to win the women’s 100m at Sunday’s Pure Athletics Sprint Elite meet held at the Claremont Complex in Florida.
Dockery had run a wind-aided 11.00 seconds (4.9m/s) in the preliminaries and surpassed her previous best of 11.08 seconds set in March last year.
Niesha Burgher was second with 11.18 seconds.
Dockery also ran a wind-aided 22.61 seconds (3.0m/s) to win the 200m, with Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith second in 22.78 seconds (1.4m/s) and Burgher third in 22.79 seconds (1.4m/s).
Leah Anderson was second in the women’s 400m with 52.58 seconds.
At the Tucson Elite Classic held at the Roy P. Drachman Stadium in Arizona, Samantha Hall was third in the women’s discus throw with 60.03m while Adrienne Adams threw 53.28m.
Chad Wright was fourth in the men’s discus throw with 61.05m, while Lloydricia Cameron was fourth in the women’s shot put with 18.59m.
Elvis Graham threw the javelin 74.37m to place fifth, while Nayoka Clunis threw 69.78m in the women’s hammer throw.
At the 61st Pentecost Sports Festival in Germany, Akelia Smith jumped a season’s best 6.81m (1.1m/s) to place second in the women’s long jump, beaten by one centimetre by Germany’s Malaika Mihambo’s 6.82m (0.2m/s).
Danniel Thomas-Dodd was fourth in the women’s shot put with 18.73m.
