Blinkers spark Cryptogirl to convincing win
A change in racing equipment made all the difference for five-year-old chestnut mare

Running with blinkers on, the Byron Davis-conditioned Cryptogirl came out a different horse and powered to a 2¼-length win over the five-furlong (1,000m) straight course at Caymanas Park.
The race was a Restricted Allowance IV contest for native-bred five-year-olds and upward (non-winners of three) and imported five-year-olds and upward (non-winners of two).
Ridden by apprentice Jaheim Anderson, Cryptogirl sat just behind the early pace as Silent American and Dane Dawkins showed the way. She stayed prominent throughout, tracking Silent American until the final furlong (200m) when she kicked clear and won easily in 1:00.4.
Silent American held on for second, with Dark Matter (Phillip Parchment) getting up for third.
