Russell returned unopposed as MoBay chamber president
ST JAMES, Jamaica — Businessman Jason Russell will continue in his role as head of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce for another year.
He was reelected unopposed at the entity’s annual general meeting held at the University of the West Indies-Western Jamaica Campus on Wednesday evening.
Russell was first elected last year, succeding former president, Oral Heaven, who did not seek reelection.
Russell was praised for his “down to earth leadership style” and his leadership following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
He will be supported by first vice president, Paulette Neil; second vice president, Nadine Spence and third vice president Richard Burrowes, who were all reelected unopposed.
The executive will be supported by 14 directors, eight of whom are returning, while the others are newcomers.
