1000 Guineas odds: Dream Catcher heads filly Classic at even money

All the preparation races are behind us, and horses with their connections have entered the final phase of readiness for the first two Classics of the 2026 season at Caymanas Park.

The spotlight falls on Saturday, June 6, with the 1000 Guineas — a mile-long test exclusively for fillies. The 2000 Guineas for colts and geldings follows on Sunday, June 7, over the same eight-furlong distance.

With the Monday Morning Trophy on May 23 complete, the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide oddsmakers have set the early lines for the 1000 Guineas.

Dream Catcher : The one to beat

Dominant in every major prep race to date, the Jason DaCosta-trained Dream Catcher has left little doubt about her credentials. Her running style — settling off the pace before a decisive late surge — makes the mile of the Guineas appear tailor-made. At level weights against her peers, Dream Catcher has been installed as the firm favourite at even money (1-1).

Another Wow: Redemption run

Though she finished well behind in the Portmore, Another Wow stumbled badly at the start and never recovered. That effort is excused, and her prior performances still command respect. She is given odds of 8-5, reflecting her potential to rebound.

Passion And Beyond : The stayer

The mile distance is expected to suit Passion And Beyond, who is likely to be running on strongly inside the final two furlongs. She is listed at 5-2, a price that reflects her stamina rather than speed.

Lexi Lou: Peaking at the right time

The oddsmakers view Lexi Lou as a filly coming to hand at precisely the right moment. Her third-place finish in the 7½ furlong Portmore Stakes suggested steady progress, and she is now considered the second choice at 7-2.

Taylor Made: Stamina query

Taylor Made fought bravely for second in the Portmore, but the extra half-furlong of the Guineas may stretch her stamina. Despite her grit, she is priced at 5-1, with doubts lingering about her ability to sustain the gallop over the mile.

Sky Is The Limit: Steady Progress

Fourth in the Portmore, Sky Is The Limit continues to show incremental progress. The oddsmakers anticipate further development, though they temper expectations with a quote of 6-1.

The remainder of the field — Charming Chatterbox, Minniehaha, Pippa, Victorious Links, One Ianzha Links, and Aliya’s Will — are all considered outsiders. Each has been assigned outsider odds of 10-1 bar, underscoring the uphill task they face against the leading contenders.
