Jamaican winners head to World Cup with Coca Cola
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two Jamaican women are preparing for their all-expenses-paid trip to the FIFA World Cup after winning the ‘Score with Coca-Cola’ promotion.
Tashaa Catnott and Brenda Morgan, the two lucky winners, will head to Atlanta, Georgia to watch the final Group Stage match between Morocco and Haiti, thanks to Coca Cola.
For both women, the experience goes far beyond football.
Catnott, 28, said that aside from the thrill of winning and to travel, the moment is deeply personal, rooted in memories of her father and the bond they shared through football. She reflected on the role her father played in shaping her love for the sport making this opportunity feel like more than a prize — one she wishes she could share with him.
“My dad passed in 2017. While growing up, football was always something we connected over. I was born on November 9, 1997, and Jamaica qualified for the World Cup a week later. He used to joke that I was his little good luck charm,” Catnott reflected.
That connection stayed alive in the home, where a photo of the historic Reggae Boyz team remained on display for years – a quiet reminder of both a proud national moment and a cherished family memory.
“Coincidentally, my stepdad is also a big fan of football and we’d also watch matches together. I’ll be taking him on the trip with me. He’s really excited as it’s something he thought he’d never get to experience,” Catnott said.
Meanwhile, Morgan says the excitement lies not just in the match itself, but in the full experience that comes with the all-expense trip.
“I’m really looking forward to soaking in the culture — being around people who are just as excited to watch the match and to do some site-seeing,” Morgan shared.
“I’ve never been to Atlanta before, so I can’t wait. I watch football occasionally and it reminds me of my childhood days when persons in Aenon Town, Clarendon (the community where I was raised), would have friendly football competitions. Honestly, I’m just a girl looking forward to the whole experience; this kickstarts what I hope will be a great summer,” she added, noting that she’ll be sharing the experience with her stepbrother.”
On June 24, the pair will join other winners from across the Latin America region to watch Morocco face Haiti in what promises to be an electrifying matchup. And while they’ll be surrounded by global supporters, their hearts are firmly rooted in the teams they’ve come to love.
“I’m rooting for Haiti,” Morgan said with a smile. “It is important to me, to support our island’s neighbours, so I’ll definitely be cheering for them.”
The promotion, which ran from February to April, encouraged fans to purchase Coca- Cola Original or No Sugar, submit codes via WhatsApp, and win instant prizes along with the chance at the grand reward.
At the official handover, Coca-Cola representatives highlighted the brand’s ongoing mission to create meaningful, once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
“Coca-Cola’s partnership with FIFA has been a long-standing one — since 1974. We always try to incorporate the love of football which has a way of bringing people together in the most powerful way and this is also what our brand stands for, sharing memorable moments. Hearing the stories behind each winner, we couldn’t be more proud to give them the chance to be part of that global moment, not just as spectators, but as participants in something truly special ” said Marketing Coordinator at Coca-Cola Jamaica, Victoria Cameron.
