The reign continues Frazsiers Whip win fourth-consecutive JWPL crown after 2-0 win over Arnett Gardens
Frazsiers Whip have done it again. The Jamaica Women’s Premier League champions claimed their fourth-consecutive title on Saturday, defeating Arnett Gardens at home in a final that highlighted just how far ahead of the competition they truly are.
The atmosphere at the venue was electric, the stakes were high, and when the final whistle was blown, it was business as usual for the most dominant team in the modern era of Jamaican women’s football.
Jennifer Williams was the standout performer on the day, delivering the winning goals to secure the championship.
Her first goal came at the 13th minute, giving Frazsiers Whip an early and commanding hold in the contest. The second goal came in the second half when a shot struck the post, deflected into the net, and Williams was there to claim it. A mishap from Arnett Gardens goalkeeper Carole Kelly further compounded her side’s misery and confirmed what had been coming for much of the afternoon.
Frazsiers Whip dominated the first half, keeping the Arnett Gardens defence busy from the first whistle. A chance that went wide of the post was among several opportunities that suggested the scoreline at the break, 1-0, did not fully reflect the champions’ superiority.

Head Coach Courtney Dowdie was in high spirits after the final whistle, expressing just how much the achievement meant to the club.
“We are extremely happy and pleased to make it four in a row,” Dowdie shared with the Jamaica Observer. “It is something we don’t take for granted.”
When asked about finishing the final with only two goals, the coach was unbothered by the scoreline.
“I was not disappointed at all. I knew Arnett Gardens were a good team and I respected them coming into the game,” he said.
Dowdie also spoke glowingly about the growth of the Jamaica Women’s Premier League, noting the bigger impact it has had on his players beyond the game.
“Several members of the squad have benefited from scholarship opportunities,” he revealed. “We have actively connected players with coaches overseas who have expressed interest.
“The improvement of the league has been very important for our girls,” he said. “It is opening doors, and those doors will only continue to open wider as the standard of the league rises and more eyes turn toward Jamaican women’s football.”
As for what comes next, Dowdie is leaving no room for complacency, so the hunt for a fifth-straight title begins immediately.
“The plan for number five starts next week,” he firmly stated.
Meanwhile, Captain Nevillegail Able was equally emotional in the aftermath, overwhelmed by the crowd that filled the stands for the women’s final.
“I was super proud seeing the turnout. It means so much for women’s football,” said Able.
Able added that lifting the trophy in her first season as captain is a huge achievement that she holds dear, even though she is no stranger to success, having been part of the club’s previous title triumphs.
“This victory was not just for the players and coaches,” she emphasised. “It belongs to the entire staff and our supporters. Without them, it would have been impossible.”
Four consecutive titles in any league worldwide is a dynasty established, and according to Head Coach Dowdie, Frazsiers Whip is just getting started.
Meanwhile Arnett Gardens’ coach Garnett Lawrence hailed his team’s efforts this season.
“This season should be viewed as a success. While we fell short of lifting the trophy, reaching the final deminstrates the progress of the club and the potential within the squad,” said Lawrence. “We know that we are not far away from competing for the championship.”
The champions dominated the postseason awards as Christina Salmon (24 goals) took the Golden Boot honours, Italya Robinson received the Golden Glove as the best goalkeeper, Williams took home MVP honours, and Dowdie walked away with the Coach of the Year award.
Mile Gully FC won the Fair Play Award.
Chairperson of the Professional Women’s Football Jamaica Limited, Christina Hudson, pointed to the continued growth of the league.
“This season has demonstrated the tremendous potential that exists within women’s football in Jamaica. We have seen increased competitiveness, stronger stakeholder engagement, and outstanding performances from our players and clubs,” said Hudson.
